Grilled Skinless Chicken Breasts

If you just BBQ chicken breast on a grill they can become a tough, flavorless piece of meat. This is a recipe to grill 3-4chicken breastsallowing you to get a tender and tasty entree.
They can be skinless or have skins but the chicken pictured above I used skinless breasts.

Ingredients:

4 cups water
1 tablespoon Kosher Salt

Mix the ingredients in a ziplock type bag or in a bowl. Rinse and pat dry the chicken. Put the chicken in a bag or bowl and seal and let marinate for at least three hours. Take the chicken out of bag and rinse and pat dry. Put what ever rub you enjoy on your chiken. In the chicken pictured above I rubbed on Garam Masala. Put the chicken breasts on gas grill that has be preheated on high. Grill 3 minutes or so on each side. I then put one side burner on low and put the chicken on that side to cook until the chicken breast are 160F with an instant-read thermometer .

Killer Bisquits

An email I recieved but I have not verified that this happened:

KILLER BISCUITS WANTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER (actual AP headline)

Linda Burnett, 23, a resident of San Diego, was visiting her in-laws and while there went to a nearby supermarket to pick up some groceries. Several people noticed her sitting in her car with the windows rolled up and with her eyes closed, with both hands behind the back of her head. One customer who had been at the store for a while became concerned andwalked over to the car. He noticed that Linda's eyes were now open, and she looked very strange. He asked her if she was okay, and Linda repliedthat she'd been shot in the back of the head, and had been holding her brains in for over an hour. The man called the paramedics, who broke into the car because the doors were locked and Linda refused to remove her hands from her head. When they final finally got in, they found that Linda had a wad of bread dough onthe back of her head. A Pillsbury biscuit canister had exploded from the heat, making a loud noisethat sounded like a gunshot, and the wad of dough hit her in the back of her head. When she reached back to find out what it was, she feltthe dough and thought it was her brains. She initially passed out, but quickly recovered and tried to hold her brains in for over an hour untilsomeone noticed and came to her aid.

Linda is a blonde, but I'm certain that's irrelevant.

Psychology of Self-esteem

I just got this in an email. It is interesting reading.

Even though the Bible does not teach self-love, self-esteem, self-worth, orself-actualization as virtues, helps, or goals, a vast number of present-day Christians have been deceived by the self-teachings of humanistic psychology. Rather than resisting the enticement of the world they become culture-bound. Not only do they not resist the tidal wave of selfism; they are riding the crest of self-esteem, self- acceptance, and self-love. Onecan hardly tell the difference between the Christian and the non-Christian in the area of the self, except that the Christian adds God as the main source for his self-esteem, self-acceptance, self-worth, and self-love. If there is one thing the world and many in the church have in common these days, it's the psychology of self-esteem. Although Christians may disagreeabout some of the nuances of self-esteem, self-worth, and self-acceptance,and even on some of the finer points of definition and how it is attained, too many have joined forces against what they believe is a formidable enemy- low self-esteem. Yet, even the world cannot justify promoting highself-esteem through its own methods of research. No Research Justification for Self-EsteemA few years ago the California legislature passed a bill creating theCalifornia Task Force to Promote Self-Esteem and Personal and Social Responsibility. The twofold title of the Task Force was quite an assumption. No one has ever demonstrated that promoting self-esteem is in any wayrelated to personal and social responsibility. Nor has anyone proved thatall those who exhibit personal and social responsibility have highself-esteem. Self-esteem and social and personal responsibility actuallyappear to be negatively rather than positively related. The Task Force believed that esteeming oneself and growing in self-esteemwould reduce "dramatically the epidemic levels of social problems wecurrently face."Is There a Positive Relationship Between High or Low Self-Esteem andPersonal and Social Responsibility? The results were then published in a book titled The Social Importance ofSelf-Esteem. Has the relationship been established between self-esteem andsocial problems? David L. Kirk, syndicated writer for the San FranciscoExaminer, said it bluntly:That . . . scholarly tome, The Social Importance of Self-Esteem, summarizes all the research on the subject in the stultifyingly boring prose of wannabescientists. Save yourself the 40 bucks the book costs and head straight for the conclusion: There is precious little evidence that [low] self-esteem isthe cause of our social ills (David L. Kirk, "Lack of Self Esteem is Not theRoot of All Ills." Santa Barbara News-Press, 15 January 1990).Even though they searched for a connection between low self-esteem and problematic behavior, they could not find a cause and effect link. However, more recent studies indicate a definite relationship between violent behavior and high self-esteem. Nevertheless, faith in self-esteem dies hard and schools continue to work on building high self-esteem...........

Don't buy Pepsi in the new can. Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can. They are coming out with pictures of the Empire State Building, and the Pledge of Allegiance on them. However, Pepsi left out two little words on the pledge,"Under God."
Pepsi said they didn't want to offend anyone..... In that case,.... "we don't want to offend anyone" at the Pepsi corporate office, either! So if we don't buy any Pepsi product, they will not be offended when they don't receive our money that has the words

Not MY Job

STROKE: Remember The 1st Three Steps

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00pm, Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It only takes a minute to read this...

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

remember the "3" steps, STR . Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.

T *Ask the person to TALK . to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE
(Coherently) (i.e. . . It is sunny out today)

R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

{NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue... if the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke}

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 9-1-1 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

Depression

Home Treatment

By Healthwise

While therapy and antidepressant medication are the most effective treatments for depression, home treatment is also important. There are many steps you can take to help yourself during a depressive episode and to prevent future episodes:

Set realistic goals for yourself, and take on a reasonable amount of responsibility.

Break large tasks into small ones, and set priorities. Do what you can when you are able.

Postpone major life decisions (such as changing jobs, moving, or getting married or divorced) when you are depressed.
Try to share your feelings with someone. It is usually better than being alone and secretive.

Let your family and friends help you.

Even if you don't feel motivated, try to participate in religious, social, or other activities.

Get regular exercise.

Eat a balanced diet. If you lack an appetite, eat small snacks rather than large meals.

Avoid drinking alcohol or using illegal drugs or medications that have not been prescribed to you. They may interfere with your medications or worsen your depression.

Get adequate sleep. If you have problems sleeping:
Go to bed at the same time every night and, more importantly, get up at the same time every morning.
Keep your bedroom dark and free of noise.

Don't exercise after 5:00 p.m.
Avoid caffeinated beverages after 5:00 p.m.

Avoid the use of nonprescription sleeping pills or alcohol, because they can make your sleep restless and may interact with your depression medications.

Be patient and kind to yourself. Remember that depression is not your fault and is not something you can overcome with willpower alone. Treatment is necessary for depression, just like for any other illness.

Try to maintain a positive attitude—remember that feeling better takes time, and your mood will improve little by little.

Helping someone who is depressed

If you know someone who is depressed, it is important to be supportive and encouraging. If you have never experienced it, it is difficult to understand just how hopeless and discouraged depression can make you feel. Remember that depression can be as disabling as other major illnesses and can make it difficult to fulfill social, family, and work obligations. Like other illnesses, depression requires treatment, time, and patience.

Avoid offering advice, but encourage the person to seek and continue treatment. You do not need to take responsibility for the person's depression. However, if you notice any warning signs of suicide, such as talking about suicide or harming someone else, signs of detachment from reality (psychosis), or excessive use of alcohol or drugs, you should seek professional help immediately by calling the person's health professional. If you feel the person is in immediate danger, call or other emergency services immediately.

Depression can lead to suicide. The warning signs of suicide change with age.

Warning signs of suicide in children and teens may include preoccupation with death or suicide or a recent breakup of a relationship.

Warning signs of suicide in adults may include alcohol or substance abuse, recent job loss, or divorce.

Warning signs of suicide in older adults may include the recent death of a partner or diagnosis of a life-limiting illness.

A Good Love Story

A Good Love Story

He met her on a party. She was so outstanding, many guys chasing after her, while he was so normal, nobody paid attention to him. At the end of the party, he invited her to have coffee with him, she was surprised, but due to being polite, she promised. They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable, she thought, please, let me go home.. suddenly he asked the waiter:

"Would you please give me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee."

Everybody stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but, still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it.

She asked him curiously: why you have this hobby?

He replied: "when I was a little boy, I was living near the sea, I liked playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea, just like the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time I have the salty coffee, I always think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my hometown so much, I miss my parents who are still living there".

While saying that tears filled his eyes. She was deeply touched.

That's his true feeling, from the bottom of his heart. A man who can tell out his homesickness, he must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home.. Then she also started to speak, spoke about her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really nice talk, also a beautiful beginning of their story. They continued to date. She found that actually he was a man who meets all her demands; he had tolerance, was kind hearted, warm, careful. He was such a good person but she almost missed him!

Thanks to his salty coffee! Then the story was just like every beautiful love story, the princess married to the prince, then they were living the happy life... And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some sal t in the coffee, as she knew that's the way he liked it.

After 40 years, he passed away, left her a letter which said: "My dearest, please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie. This was the only lie I said to you---the salty coffee. Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but I said salt It was hard for me to change so I just went ahead. I never thought that could be the start of our communication! I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie to you for anything..

Now I'm dying, I afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth: I don't like the salty coffee, w hat a strange bad taste.. But I have had the salty coffee for my whole life! Since I knew you, I never feel sorry for anything I do for you. Having you with me is my biggest happiness for my whole life. If I can live for the second time, still want to know you and have you for my whole life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee again".

Her tears made the letter totally wet.

Someday, someone asked her: what's the taste of salty coffee? It's sweet. She replied.

love is not 2 forget but 2 forgive
not 2 c but 2 understand
not 2 hear but 2 listen
not 2 let go but HOLD ON !!!!

Stolen Cell Phone

For those of you that have problems with your cell phone being stolen. Soon you might be able to get even.

Stolen Mobile Finder

A resident of Visakhapatnam has lost not one not two but thirty mobiles.

The experience of losing so many cell phones got him thinking and he started experimenting with making devices that could track mobile thiefs.

N V Satyanaraian, an M Tech and a scientist, finally managed to do something about it.

Hours of experimentation resulted in software called Stolen Mobile Finder, a unique device to track down mobile thiefs of which he now holds the patent.

This Visakhapatnam resident claims that once the software is installed, it is difficult to change the sim card of the phone.

If the thief tries to change the software, the handset asks for a password and accepts whatever password the thief puts in.

However, then the software starts its trick.

"Rs 900 will be reduced everyy hour from the sim card and this will happen without the thief's knowledge. It requires no operator help. The mobile will take care of this on its own and inform the real owner of the status of the phone," says he.

And there's more. As soon as the theft is identified, the software transfers the entire address book to the actual owner of the phone within seconds and regularly communicates with the owner about incoming and outgoing calls.

It also uses some old fashioned psychological pressure. The software makes the mobile emit a loud alarm at odd hours even when the cell is switched off.

"The incoming calls, outgoing calls and vibrator mode of the mobile is suspended and gets into the dormant mode. The thief's voice can be picked up and his intentions can be monitored," says Satyanaraian.

Besides this mobile thief catcher, Satyanarain has another wonder up his sleeve.

He is developing a micro-windmill mobile charger, which harnesses wind energy.

The Research and Development Division of the Department of Science and Technology at the National Innovation Foundation and some venture capitalists fund his innovations.

Satyanaraian has already won a national award for his innovative inventions and is now negotiating with mobile phone makers to use his software, which he recently got patented.

Understanding Broadband

First of all, you must know some of the jargon! The word broadband itself simply is defined as a high speed Internet service that gives you continuous access to the Internet on a consistent basis. Broadband includes a technology called ADSL which stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line and requires a special modem to access the line.

This technology uses standard copper telephone lines to provide Internet access speeds from 1.5 to 9 megabytes per second. DSL technologies or Digital Subscriber Lines use a higher frequency than standard telephone communication.

There are several types of DSL configurations including ADSL or Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Lines, HDSL or High data rate DSL, and VDSL or Very High Data Rate DSL. A DSL line dynamically increases the capacity of ordinary copper wire. Since the signal is stronger the closer you are to the DSL Access Multiplexor or DSLAM the faster your signal will be the closer you are to the DSL provider's Central Office or distribution point.

DSL lines are typically used for small business and residential customers. Of course as your needs grow, it should be understood; that the more data you need to transfer, the larger the pipe (Internet access line or physical copper wire) you need to transport the data. This is where more sophisticated forms of broadband come in for business use. Read more information at : http://online-articles.org/broadband-internet/site-map.php

The technical terms for this type of broadband is measured by the amount of data that the line transfers. T1 -Transmits data in the range of 1.5 million bits per second and primarily used by small and medium sized business with heavy upload and Internet traffic. A T-1 line is usually leased by bandwidth used. Typical uses are large graphic files, photographs, sound files, music, video, etc. However, your company should evaluate the amount of data and computers that are connected for Internet Access at the same time. T1 lines in the United States carry a 24 pulse code modulation (PCM) signal using time-division multiplexing (TDM).

These lines use copper wire which usually connect major metropolitan areas. There are a number of high quality companies that offer T1 Broadband and you will find that prices do vary so it is important that you compare.

You may also find that your local cable provider may have introduced their version of broadband which actually can emulate one side of a T1 connection. However, you should be aware... You may actually get 1.5 mpbs on the download side, but when you try to upload a file, your bandwidth is cut down to about 1/10th. A cable connection is made for residential customers to surf the Internet with great speed and download files, but not made for you to upload with great speed. This slow upload limit is the major difference between a real T1 line and cable.Read more information at : http://online-articles.org/broadband-internet/site-map.php

There are many types of broadband connections that are much faster circuit than T1, these range from T3 (3 times faster than T1) to OC-48, and a frame relay connection which really are the same thing just MUCH larger pipes (lines) that can transmit the data. I have found while working with broadband providers you really need a persona coach to help guide you through the process.

Not only can personal coaches such as ImageLink Networks guide you through the red tape, the efficiency that comes from our presence and telecom knowledge will save you time and money in the end. It is important to seek an unbiased opinion and research for the best real time price for your T1 line. Broadband is a commodity, and changes as new subscribers come online in specified areas. To make a long story shorter, you are ready for a broadband connection if you are tired of waiting for a standard dial up to connect and download.

Do not be confused, dial up companies use a standard phone line to connect you to their server to bring you an Internet connection. One thing is for sure, if you ever experience a broadband connection via cable, T1, T3, DS-3, or better you will never ever go back to dial up.Read more information at : http://online-articles.org/broadband-internet/site-map.php

The Top Ten Strategies of A Great Interview

The Top Ten Strategies of A Great Interview

You've just received a call to interview with your dream company. Do you know how to prepare for the interview so that you'll feel confident, have a good experience and set yourself apart from others? Try following the steps below and you'll not only be well prepared, you'll present yourself as a true professional.

1. Research the company.

Do your homework, e.g. Go to the company's website and read about the employers vision, strategy, competitive advantages, products, finances, departments, etc. If the company doesn't have a web presence look them up at the library, call the Better Business Bureau or Chamber of Commerce, find out who they are, what products they sell, and something about their competitors.

2. Prepare your elevator speech.

This is your two-minute opportunity to enlighten the interviewer about your chief accomplishments. Please note, this is not the same as your responsibilities. Employers want to know what you did, not what you were charged with doing.

3. Prepare your talking points.

Craft a list of your 4 greatest strengths and the 4 things you're currently working on for professional growth. Be prepared to give examples of each.

4. Identify innovations / process improvements you made in your most recent employment.

Employers want to know how hiring you will make their organization better and contribute to the execution of their strategy. (Assuming you did your homework in step # 1 you can offer examples of innovations or revenue saving ideas that will be of interest to the potential employer.)

5. Dress for success.

The way you dress makes a statement about yourself. Regardless of the job that you're applying for, it's a good idea to wear a freshly laundered suit?even in a casual business environment.

6. Arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment.

Besides ensuring you aren't rushed, you can learn a lot by utilizing this strategy. Observe the company's employees as you sit in the lobby. Do they greet one another and say hello to you? Are they smiling and happy or frazzled and frustrated? Read more articles at : http://online-articles.org/careers-employment/site-map.php

7. Engage in a dialogue.

A conversation is a two-way exchange. Be curious and ask lots of questions to get a good understanding of how the company, department, and management operates. Ask about the job responsibilities and company culture, e.g. Employee recognition programs, opportunities for personal and professional development, current and future challenges of the position, etc.

8. Tell the truth.

When responding to the employer's questions, tell the truth! If you made a mistake, say it in a positive way, accept responsibility for it, what you learned, and how you have benefited from the experience.

9. Don't talk salary or benefits.

The goal is to get as many options going as possible so don't talk about compensation too early in the game, it can be a knockout factor. Sell the employer on all that you can do for them. If they're interested they'll make an offer and then you can start negotiating both issues.

10. 50 % of the responsibility for the right job match is yours.

Remember, you're interviewing the employer just as they are interviewing you.Read more articles at : http://online-articles.org/careers-employment/site-map.php

What's Your Love Style?

Your Love Style is Agape

You are a caring, kind, and selfless partner.
Unsurprisingly, your love style is the most rare.
You are willing to sacrfice your world for your sweetie.
