Iraq Interrpreters anguished life

I just lack understand why interpreter working for us in Iraq and Afghan cannot get special conditions for a Visa. I am use there is little doubt that there life is threated. I am sure there may be concern they may be part of the insurgents and come to the US for information and maybe create terrorist acts here. However, surely there should be a way to help them.
