When I was twenty or so I would have gone for this type of place. Living for 13 years in a Barrio area of LA it would not had been too of a shock. I am too used to comfort for this type of place nowadays. What shocked me about this place called Pousada Favelinha was the prices. It costs $15 US dollars to sleep in a room with bunk a beds. You can stay at a hostel in LA for the same price. Amazing what they charge foreigners.
