Dole Will Stop Growing Pineapples in Hawaii

Del Monte announced it is going to stop growing pineapple on Oahu due to the higher costs of growing pineapple compared to other countries and their inability to get a long term lease on the land they were leasing from the Campbell Estates. It will according to them be a tree year plan to cease operations. This will eliminate around 700 jobs.
